My housemate Laura is entirely to blame for my Make Up Revolution obsession. That and my complete lack of self control.
I am by all means an advocate for high end make up. I feel that when you buy something for a slightly higher price and quality, its just all round better. Better texture, better colour, better smell. That being said, I make a complete exception for MUR. The eyeshadows have amazing pigmentation, the lipsticks come in a great formula, and I cannot rave enough about their blush sticks. And for the price, well I couldn't say no.
First off, these lipsticks. These are from the Scandalous collection, and whilst blue may not be everyones first choice, I just thought it was such a fun idea. Whether it be for halloween, fancy dress, or just because, multicoloured lipstick is awesome. The yellow and blue may not be to everyones day to day tastes, but the pigmentation is great, and they last a decent amount of time given the £1 price tag. The pink and purple are both really nice, and are much more wearable in my opinion (but that all depends on what you like the most).
Next were these two 'lip hugs'. Coined as a hug for your lips, these lipsticks are a slightly better quality than the other lipsticks above. The colour payoff is that little bit better, but these don't come in the crazy colours of above. The range is a much more 'your lips but better' kind, but these colours are great if you want something a little more wintery, but not so dark for the day.
Onto cheek products. I already own the 'One' blush stick in matte rush, and after a few weeks of using and absolutely loving that, I decided I desperately needed the matte Malibu as well. The colour pigmentation in this is incredible, and you only need the tiniest bit, unless looking like you've dipped your face in nutella is the the image you're going for. I use this a bit for contouring, though it may be on the orange side for some skin tones.
Last but not least is the Mermaids Vs Unicorns palette. Now after all the build up on Instagram for this, I've been dying to get my hands on it for ages. Not only do I love each and every shade, but its a mix of shades I have missing from my kit. The mint greens mixed with a little gold look beautiful and the purples work together to make a great smokey eye (you know I love my purple smokey eye) Very very happy with this product, and very excited to use it more.
So haul done. Like I said, MUR is the brand to go for for budget make up. If you want to try a new colour lipstick that you aren't sure will suit you before for buying it high brand, or you just fancy a new look on a budget, this brand is an absolute must to look through.
Grace x
