MAC Pigment Review

I bought these beauties a while back, but I haven't really had much use of them until now. I was shopping in an outlet centre near Glastonbury at the end of my reading week, and I came across these in a Cosmetics Company store. You get three pigments and two glitters for the grand price of £19.95. I know, I was shocked too. Even considering the fact they are half-size, this is one of the best bargains I've found. All that put together with the fact that they matched my recently dyed hair, meant I had to have them.

Here they are swatched along my arm. I have to say, Vanilla (the pale white-gold shade) is now my go to inner-eye highlight, and it looks great against my brown eyes. The pale purple shimmer (Kitschmas) is another great highlighter, and I love the colour, but it does take a lot more building up to achieve a more visible colour.

Finally the dark purple pigment (Push The Edge) is much more matte, and blends really well with the shimmer colours. As with Kitchmas it does take a bit of building, but the texture is so smooth and workable, it really doesn't matter. Put together these pigments work to make a great purple smoky eye

The other half of this pack are the two glitters. This is the first time I've tried the MAC glitters and I really like them. As you can see by the swatches above, they are both highly pigmented and strongly packed together. Other glitter pigments I've tried needed a base colour to really show any colour, but these were brilliant. Like all glitters they need a bit of help to stay on, but a little water will do the trick, or if you really want staying power, add some eyelash glue.

Overall I am so impressed with these. MAC is the one make up brand I haven't really tried yet, but these were excellent, and I am definitely going to add to my collection.

Grace x
