America Beauty Haul

So, I recently returned from a trip to America. Not my first time over there but it was to the Mall of America in Minneapolis. Over 0.6 miles from corner to corner, and around 4.2 miles of store frontage over the course of 4 days and its fair to say my feet still ache! However, I did manage to get my hands on some beauty products that I've been coveting for a while (Sephora is my life) and that are much cheaper in the US.

I am an avid follower of many make up artists on Instagram and Tumblr, and Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand used widely throughout them.

This product is the Dipbrow Pomade in Dark Brown. Though my hair is a kind of purple grey at the moment, my natural hair colour is a deep ashy brown, so this is therefore perfect for giving my eyebrows some definition.

I have to say, I've completely fallen in love with this. The pigmentation in this is insane, and I can tell that this is going to last me forever as you only need a small bit to get a great colour. I got the Sephora Pro Brow brush to go with it, as I was in desperate need of a new one.

Second product up is this:

This is something else I've been after for ages; MAC's Velvet Teddy matte lipstick. I really wanted a brown-y nude colour since its a colour I am (somehow) missing from my collection. Again the colour payoff in this is excellent and the colour is exactly what I was looking for. For my first MAC lipstick I was really impressed, and am already planning on which colour I want next.

Next up is another lip product. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a brand that we don't currently have in stores in the UK, and its a brand I love. I already own two of their lip tars in Pagan and Rollergirl, but I wanted a lighter nude colour, so opted for Sebastian.

The lip tars each come with a little lip brush in their packaging which I think is a really great idea, especially since these are so pigmented. The formula on this one was a little different to the others I own, but I still really liked the colour and look of it on.

It was much more sheer than I was expecting, but after a couple of coats I managed to build up a good coverage. Overall I do like this product, but it wasn't my favourite out of the things I bought.

Finally I stopped off at NYX. As a drugstore brand these are much more affordable than the previous products, but are still really impressive both in price and in pigmentation.

I bought these pencils in the colours Peacock and Milk. Milk has already proved itself as a vital part of my make up stash. Great for highlighting and building a base for coloured lipsticks and eyeshadows, it has multiple uses.

Peacock is a little more niche, but I particularly like it for lining my lower lash line for a pop of colour on a smoky eye. For $4.00 each these were both worth the money and more, and I would highly recommend them.

So that's it on the beauty front. I'll follow this up eventually with a fashion haul, which will contain much, much more!

Grace x
